Trade Overseer - General Industries

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trade Overseer to join our team at Wellington Correctional Centre. As a key member of our unit, you will play a vital role in supervising and developing inmates through coaching, instructing, and encouraging them to improve their work skills and enhance their post-release employment prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of inmates to ensure productivity efficiency and achieve commercial objectives.
  • Oversee the activities of the team to meet Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements, and customer service needs.
  • Develop and implement training programs to support inmate development and skill enhancement.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or the ability to complete it within specified timeframes.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
  • Relevant trade qualifications, including minimum Cert III in Carpenter (Building/Construction), Print with Print/Cut UV -LED Printer experience, Flexographic, Off-set printing, Digital printing, and graphic design, Horticultural, Landscaping, Baking, or commercial cookery.
  • Forklift licence desired but not essential.
