Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Shift Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our facility during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Direct duties and responsibilities of shelter staff as assigned, maintain accurate census within the shelter, and provide updated documentation at the end of each shift.
  • Staff Supervision: Ensure proper staffing levels during shifts, assign monitor staff specific duties to support shelter residents and operations, and conduct bi-annual performance evaluations for monitor staff.
  • Incident Response: Intervene in disputes between clients and/or staff, documenting incidents accurately, prepare incident reports, and submit daily shift reports.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records and documentation for outside volunteers and stipend workers, and ensure compliance with COA standards.
  • Crisis Management: Substitute monitor staff who call off, assume operations management in absence of regularly scheduled Shift Supervisor or Director of Operations, and act as temporary liaison for partner agencies.
  • Quality Improvement: Coordinate shelter overflow, including staffing needs, transportation, and supplies, and work towards quality improvements.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Five or more years working with homeless, chemically dependent, or mentally disabled individuals.
  • Skills: Knowledge or experience in Social Service field mandatory, computer knowledge, including Word and Excel proficiency, operational knowledge of HOPE system and Community Service Database helpful.
