About Hassett and the Role
Hassett is a rapidly growing player in the proptech space, revolutionizing Australia's $300 billion real estate market through a suite of digital media and agent services platforms. As a Financial Reporting Manager, you will be based in Melbourne, VIC, working closely with the finance team to manage annual audits, consolidate financial statements for multiple entities, and collaborate with auditors and the Finance Director. This role offers the chance to work on impactful projects in a dynamic industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual financial audit in coordination with the Finance Director, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards across multiple entities.
- Analyze and prepare financial statements, streamlining financial documentation and enhancing audit processes with auditors.
- Draft technical accounting papers on complex topics like Employee Share Option Plans, Business Combinations, and Convertible Notes.
- Contribute to the development and execution of audit strategies, improving financial reporting processes and month-end consolidations for management reporting.
- Oversee tax requirements in collaboration with tax agents, tackling ad hoc finance projects as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA or CPA qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with extensive experience in audit and consolidation accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and audit facilitation.
- Technical accounting expertise with an ability to interpret and apply standards effectively.
- High attention to detail and strong prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities at all levels.
Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum
