Mid-Level Business Underwriter Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering profitable growth through the achievement of gross written premium (GWP)
  • Underwriting referrals within delegated authority
  • Maintaining awareness of claim activity and liaising with stakeholders
  • Contributing towards the continual development and improvement of the portfolio
  • Establishing relationships with key and new producers

Requirements for success in this role include:

  • Proven experience as an underwriter in general insurance/business packages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships
  • A strong team player with initiative and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of risk and corresponding underwriting appetite(s)
  • Knowledge of products/services of key competitors
