About the Role

Southern Cross Care is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our dedicated care team, providing expert care and support to older adults in residential aged care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality services that optimise the well-being, mobility, pain management, and recovery of our residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-level physiotherapy diagnostic and treatment skills aligned to resident needs and preferences.
  • Contributing positively to multi-disciplinary care planning for our residents.
  • Participating in face-to-face handovers with nursing staff to improve communication about resident needs and therapy.
  • Case conferencing and problem-solving complex care needs.
  • Supporting residents on proactive reablement pathways and identifying deviations early.
  • Mentoring students on placements and engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance capacity to optimise resident wellbeing outcomes.
About You

We are looking for individuals who share our passion for making a difference in the lives of our residents and clients. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration.
  • Knowledge of residential aged care practice, including understanding and experience of AN-ACC.
  • Experience working from a Healthy Ageing approach.
  • Commitment to meeting internal and external client needs.
  • Initiative, strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to listen and adapt communication to audience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills using Google Suite and in-house databases.
  • Familiarity with Aged Care Standards applicable to the role.
  • Capacity to apply for a provider number and understand the aged care system.
