About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Programs and Policy Lead to join our team at Legal Aid NSW. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the management and coordination of new initiatives and programs that contribute to our organizational objectives and government commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to, the identification and development of program solutions and to inform program decision making.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development, and implementation for a range of projects.
  • Mentor and guide Policy Officers and Project Officers and support staff, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver policy priorities and initiatives and successfully deliver all key projects milestones.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with program design, program management, or policy development.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to a range of audiences, including executives.
  • Prior leadership mentoring skills and experience in the early childhood education and care sector would be highly regarded.
