Graduate Valuer

Job Description:

As a Graduate Valuer, you will be responsible for undertaking and assisting with professional property and valuation information. You will participate in a 24-month graduate program with rotations across teams, including Rating & Taxing, Objections, Compulsory Acquisitions, and Special Valuations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and assist with professional property and valuation information consistent with legislation and policy.
  • Participate in a 24-month graduate program with up to four six-month rotations across teams.
  • Provide valuation support and advice to the Valuer General and government clusters.
  • Gain exposure to valuing every parcel of land in NSW and determining compensation for compulsory acquisitions.

About You:

  • Drive, motivation, and commitment to learning with self-reflection ability.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to achieve quality outcomes efficiently and make decisions within delegation on valuation matters.
  • Deliver on outcomes that are transparent, objective, on time, and in accordance with relevant requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies and their application.
  • Student or Provisional Member of the Australian Property Institute.
  • Completion of or undertaking qualifications eligible for Associate Membership of the Australian Property Institute by end of 2025.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel.

Training & Development:

  • 24-month graduate program with rotations across multiple valuation teams.
  • Opportunity to develop skills to become a qualified Valuer.
  • Potential to obtain Associate membership with the Australian Property Institute upon program completion.

Career Progression:

  • Pathway to qualification as a Valuer and Associate membership with the Australian Property Institute.
  • Experience across diverse valuation functions within Value NSW.
  • Potential for ongoing and temporary opportunities through a recruitment pool for up to 18 months.
