Job Title: Technical Director I Pipeline Management

Pipeline and Asset Management Opportunities

We are seeking a skilled technical director to lead the development and maintenance of software tools, providing front-line support to artists and troubleshooting computer-generated imagery pipelines.

The ideal candidate will ensure artist efficiency in a fast-paced feature film visual effects production environment. The technical director will receive direction from show supervisors and report to R&D supervisors for guidance on technical matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop pipeline and asset management tools to meet immediate production demands and ensure consistency across facilities.
  • Maintain existing workflows and scripts, and provide production support across various disciplines.
  • Monitor email requests, redirect problems to engineering teams, and test and validate new tools and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for use in computer graphics.
  • At least 2 years of production experience in visual effects for film, commercials, or television.
  • Proficiency in Linux, strong Python scripting, and experience with Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Mari, Katana, RenderMan, Unreal Engine, or similar software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and provide innovative solutions to pipeline issues.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is self-sufficient in troubleshooting and has a mix of technical skills and soft skills for effective collaboration within the team.
