This challenging role requires an individual with strong technical expertise and experience in high voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining, repairing, and performing fault finding diagnosis on high voltage distribution systems.

  • Maintain, repair, and perform fault finding diagnosis on high voltage distribution systems;
  • Perform operational switching, testing, and maintenance on high voltage assets;
  • Write, verify, and perform switching procedures, including issuance of access and test permits;
  • Prepare, verify, and issue high voltage documentation;
  • Carry out overhead line feeder patrols;
  • Inspect and maintain high voltage assets, including air-break switches, drop out fuses, reclosers, switchgear, control equipment, transformers, power factor correction units, UPS, switchyards, and RMUs;
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on high voltage overhead, underground, and substation distribution network assets;
  • Commission new high voltage network installations and extensions;
  • Respond to high voltage network faults during and outside normal business hours;
  • Identify secondary system protection faults;
  • Analyse alarms and protection system abnormalities;
  • Identify preventative maintenance opportunities to maximise network reliability;
  • Commission new high voltage network installations and extensions;
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Protecting the electrical infrastructure from damage or deterioration;
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements;
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve network reliability and efficiency;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational objectives;
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong technical knowledge of high voltage systems and equipment;
  • Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and fault finding diagnosis;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
