Job Title: Senior High Voltage Specialist

As a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of high voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of HV Technicians in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of high voltage electrical systems.
  • Install, inspect, and maintain high voltage electrical equipment and systems to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues in high voltage systems and components using advanced testing techniques.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to identify potential issues before they occur.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement high voltage system upgrades and modifications to improve system efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Document all work performed, including maintenance reports and equipment logs, to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience working with high voltage electrical systems.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on team management and development.
  • Strong knowledge of high voltage electrical testing, including but not limited to: HV cable fault locating and testing, partial discharge testing, transformer testing, switchgear maintenance and testing, thermography surveys, protection relay testing, and earth testing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues, managers, and clients at all levels.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in various environmental conditions.
Credentials:
  • Australian Trade Certification / AQF Cert Level 3 Electro Tech.
  • Electrical License.
  • High Voltage Switching Cert (desirable but not essential).
  • Current CPR/LVR (within the last 9 months).
  • Current Unrestricted C Class Driver's License.
  • White / Blue Construction Card.
