Engineering Leadership Role

We are working with a leading global trading firm to help them hire an experienced Technical Team Lead in Sydney, focused on engineering productivity and enablement across their APAC tech teams.

This is a hands-on software engineering role aimed at building internal tooling, improving dev workflows, and helping standardise tech across the region.

  • Build and maintain internal tooling, shared libraries, CI/CD systems, and developer platforms.
  • Interface with engineering teams to understand pain points and unblock bottlenecks.
  • Implement solutions that boost developer velocity and productivity across the region.
  • Act as the local lead for a small team (2–3 engineers), while remaining hands-on.
  • Contribute to global initiatives and represent APAC in technical planning discussions.
  • Play a key role in rolling out AI-driven solutions to streamline engineering processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has:

  • 6–10 years' experience as a software engineer.
  • Strong Python skills (bonus: C++ and/or C#).
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), Docker, and dev tooling.
  • Some prior experience in leadership, mentoring or team coordination.
  • Great communication skills and a pragmatic, collaborative mindset.
