Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Management Accountant to join our team at our Newcastle Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and reporting for a mine site, ensuring accurate financial stewardship of the ledger and utilizing Business Intelligence systems to prepare insightful reporting.


This role involves completing month-end processes, annual budgeting and mid-year forecasts using ERP ledgers and generating reports and insights through Business Intelligence software such as IBM Planning and Analytics. The successful candidate will also assist auditors with providing information and ensure effective partnership with site-based personnel through regular site visits.



Responsibilities
  • Prepare all management accounting and financial reporting, including monthly mine site reporting and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half and full year audit processes, and joint venture accounting and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of expenses in the general ledger for company codes.
  • Develop expertise in Pulse (ERP) and TM1 (Business Intelligence software).
  • Contribute to testing of system updates.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) membership.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in management accounting and mine accounting.
  • Systems experience in TM1 Planning Analytics, Pulse (ERP) or related software.
