We are seeking a highly skilled Project Portfolio Manager to join our team at Element Six, a global leader in the design, development, and production of synthetic diamond and tungsten carbide supermaterials. As a key member of our innovation team, you will be responsible for managing our innovation portfolio, reporting to the Head of Innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively drive the effectiveness and efficiency of our innovation function, working closely with colleagues across multiple sites and departments.
  • Oversee and maintain our portfolio of projects, ensuring a balanced portfolio against crucial factors such as short-term versus long-term or risk against reward.
  • Appraise and govern innovation projects associated with our R&D and product portfolio, providing data insights and presenting findings to influence decisions.
  • Develop and maintain business unit innovation project funnels to support prioritization of projects.
  • Communicate portfolio status, designing and utilizing dashboard metric reporting to highlight key changes and risks to projects on a regular basis.
  • Accountable for our New Product Introduction process, including governance and oversight.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and driving learnings across the portfolio.
  • Lead the digital transformation of project information, integrating with other data systems within Element Six to provide insights from related information.
Requirements
  • A successful influencer with confidence and assertiveness, strong diplomacy skills.
  • Strong experience in project management in a scientific or equivalent field, with a proven record of project delivery and/or commercialization.
  • Technical acumen in a science-based discipline or commercial experience beneficial.
  • Able to communicate proactively and extensively with senior business leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working in a project or programme management office beneficial.
  • Proficient in the use of software applications, particularly MS Power Point, Excel, Word.
  • Experience of a PPM software package and Power BI advantageous.
  • Highly organized and adept at multi-tasking, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
