Grants Manager Position

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the Grants and Hubs Branch as a key member of the team. As a Grants Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality results while supporting and enabling your colleagues through sharing of expertise and technical knowledge.

The team works closely with the veteran community, including ex-service and community organisations, government agencies, and other external stakeholders. You will have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of grants and projects through the lifecycle of grants
  • Contributing to grant processes and advice through development of briefing packs
  • Monitoring progress against grants and project delivery
  • Developing and maintaining compliant and useful grants and/or project templates and standard operating procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Strong grants management, contract management, communication skills, or proven ability to attain and further develop these skills quickly
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a high level of autonomy

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS)
  • Pre-engagement screening check required for external applicants
