Job Overview

This role coordinates, supports and supervises clinical coding staff to ensure targets and timeframes are met.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and developing coding processes for accurate and timely completion of clinical coding activities.
  • Coordinating workload distribution and statistics.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum 5 years of full-time equivalent clinical coding experience in a tertiary or secondary hospital.
  • Completed Bachelor of Health Information Management or clinical coding diploma with HIMMA or equivalent.
  • Ability to consult on Clinical Coding audit programs and liaise with external auditors/educators.
  • Strong knowledge of health fund contract system and Casemix/Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG).
  • Demonstrated understanding of anatomy, physiology, diseases and pathological processes.
