Clinical Coding Specialist

We are seeking a skilled clinical coder to join our team.

About the Role:

  • Abstract and assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for all inpatient episodes.
  • Collaborate with a highly regarded Clinical Coding Team and receive support from an onsite Clinical Coding Educator.

About You:

  • You should be adaptable, possess exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, and demonstrate courtesy and sensitivity when interacting with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Your Qualifications and Experience:

  • A clinical coding qualification from a reputable institution or equivalent, such as a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).
  • At least 2 years' experience in abstracting and coding across a wide range of healthcare services.
  • Sound knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th edition, national and local coding standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of anatomy, physiology, diseases, and pathological processes.
  • Good analytical and abstracting skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Ongoing professional development and participation in continuing education programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems.
