Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Quest for Life Foundation, a leading Australian not-for-profit organization. This is a part-time opportunity, with the successful candidate working 3-4 days per week.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a financial professional to make a real difference in the lives of individuals facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and serious illness. As Financial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with statutory and management accounting requirements, and supporting the strategic business goals of the foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Management:
    • Lead annual audits, prepare draft financial statements, and implement audit recommendations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
    • Prepare budgets, forecasts, monthly accounts, and Board reports to provide timely and reliable financial information.
    • Manage cash flow, MYOB system, and establish key performance indicators to measure financial performance.
    • Ensure compliance with all BAS, IAS, SGL, GST, and ACNC reporting requirements to maintain regulatory obligations.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable:
    • Oversee credit control, ensuring timely reconciliation and follow-up on outstanding payments to minimize delays.
    • Handle payables, approving supplier invoices, and processing payments accurately to maintain smooth financial operations.
  • Payroll:
    • Supervise payroll processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and accurate calculation of SGL and group tax payments to meet regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Degree in Accounting (CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years in financial transactions, payroll, and accounts management for a small business/organisation.
  • Proficient in MYOB, Advanced Excel skills, and familiar with various accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and management accounting skills to drive financial decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with a proactive and ethical approach.

Estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location of the position.
