Heavy Equipment Technician Job Opportunity

Amcor Excavations is a civil earthworks company contracted to construct lease pads and access roads within the gas sector. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician for major earthwork projects in the Western Downs Area around Chinchilla and Wandoan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Maintaining safe work practices
  2. Conducting servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment including trucks, dozers, graders compactors, rollers, excavators, and posi-tracks
  3. Working within project rules and regulations at all times
  4. Liaising with direct managers, supervisors, and managers daily
  5. Diagnosing and repairing faults
  6. Working to tight schedules while maintaining high standards
  7. Adopting Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current driver's licence (HR preferred but not essential)
  • Full qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Confidence in all aspects of plant repairs
  • Sound knowledge of diesel engines and emissions
  • Sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension
  • Basic auto electrical knowledge
  • Competence with computers and digital diagnostics
  • An outstanding work ethic and commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • A team player who is action-focused and result-oriented
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals
  • Experience in working in a high-performance team
  • Ability to work flexible hours
