Seeking Experienced Professionals for Board Membership
The NSW Institute of Sport is a high-performance sporting organisation that supports Australian athletes to become world's best. Our experts work in collaboration with partners within the national sporting system to create and deliver high performance support services and environments to prepare athletes and coaches for international competition.
The Board of NSWIS consists of 8 members, including the Chair and Deputy Chair, who bring a wealth of experience, business acumen, and expertise to determine the policies and strategic plans of the Institute.
Board members operate at a strategic level, overseeing leadership and actively working in the interests of NSWIS and the athletes we support, contributing knowledge, expertise, and connections to support the development and delivery of the NSWIS strategic plan and priorities.
We are looking for individuals with experience in stakeholder engagement, statutory compliance, risk management, organisational performance, governance, and due diligence.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of the social, economic, and political context at a local, national, and international level as it relates to high performance sport
- Sports industry knowledge and awareness
- Sound governance, including understanding legal, ethical, fiduciary, and other responsibilities of Board members
- Strategic expertise, critical thinking, and planning skills
- Experience in monitoring and oversight of outcomes and results
- High levels of integrity and honesty
