High Performance Sport Governance Opportunities

The NSW Institute of Sport seeks experienced individuals to join its Board as Chair and Deputy Chair. These positions offer a unique opportunity for those with a passion for high performance sport to contribute to the strategic direction of the Institute.
As a member of the NSWIS Board, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the organisation, working closely with the CEO and other Board members to ensure the success of our athletes.
To be successful in these roles, you will require strong governance skills, including experience in strategic planning, risk management, and statutory compliance. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
We are seeking individuals who possess a deep understanding of the high performance sport sector, with experience in stakeholder engagement and ambassadorial roles. If you have a passion for driving excellence in sport and want to make a meaningful contribution to the success of our athletes, we encourage you to apply.
The Chair will be responsible for leading the Board, ensuring effective decision-making and communication, and representing the interests of NSWIS at key events. The Deputy Chair will provide support to the Chair and perform the role of Chair in their absence.
Key capabilities required for these roles include:
- Sound governance and leadership skills
- Strategic thinking and planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in high performance sport or a related field
- Ambassadorial skills and ability to represent the organisation at key events
