Job Title: Cropping and Mixed Farming Specialist

This position oversees the entire cropping program, ensuring optimal management of spraying, sowing, harvesting, and spreading operations. The successful candidate will maintain precise records of these activities and effectively communicate with agronomists and mechanics.

In addition to cropping duties, the role includes working with sheep and cattle as part of mixed farming responsibilities. The Cropping and Mixed Farming Specialist will also play a vital role in farm development and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for innovation and increased efficiency.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the cropping program, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of cropping activities.
  • Collaborate with agronomists and mechanics to optimize crop yields and productivity.
  • Contribute to mixed farming responsibilities, including working with sheep and cattle.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance farm efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of the cropping cycle, including spraying, sowing, harvesting, and spreading.
  • Chemcert certification or equivalent.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Prior livestock handling experience using low-stress techniques.
