We are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk Manager to assist in developing and achieving goals for profit, growth, service and producer relations across various classes of business.

Your Role

The primary purpose of this role is to drive underwriting excellence and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) within the financial lines underwriting team.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Determine acceptability of new business and renewals while following established guidelines and delegated authority.
  • Apply adequate pricing structures and utilise relevant endorsements as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of claim activity and communicate with adjusters as required.
  • Monitor underwriting results and premium and loss trends.
  • Oversee underwriting judgement and authority of less experienced staff members.
Production
  • Analyse and monitor quality, volume and mix of business for assigned producers.
  • Review performance reports, enforce accounts and make quality-control recommendations.
  • Visit producers and insureds to communicate department philosophy and increase market share.
  • Increase producers' awareness of appetite, products and advantages through product presentations.
Service
  • Adhere to established department service goals and respond to needs of producers.
  • Identify and report deficiencies and suggest changes for improvements.
