Deckhand Role

As a key member of our team, you will play an integral part in supporting our business by delivering exceptional customer experiences.

About the Position
  • We are seeking a motivated and experienced Deckhand to join our crew.
  • This is a casual position with flexible working hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the Master and crew to prepare the vessel for cruises, managing berthing and mooring lines, and performing deck rounds while addressing engineering and maintenance needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure guest safety by assisting with mobility, following safety procedures, and conducting lookout duties.
  2. Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping tasks, assist with food and beverage service, and manage guest requests by communicating specific needs with the office team.
  3. Maintain accurate logbooks, report safety or environmental concerns to the Vessel Master, and liaise with office managers on cruise-related matters.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be a team player with a positive 'can-do' attitude, and have the flexibility to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Additional requirements include:

  • Valid GPH qualification
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
