Job Summary

The Senior Production Engineer will provide technical support for mine production, focusing on the delivery of safe and efficient production plans.

  • Deliver short-term schedules in alignment with direction provided by the planning department.
  • Establish company procedures, standards, and templates for the technical services department.
  • Support operations through the delivery of safe and efficient production plans.
  • Assist with implementing infrastructure projects and required instructions.
  • Support the mining manager as required, covering a variety of tasks including technical work and statutory appointments.
  • Conduct ventilation surveys, monitoring, and compliance checks.
  • Perform regular underground inspections.
  • Cover underground manager tickets when required.
  • Organize short-term and daily activities with onsite contractors and technical staff.
  • Validate sections of the onsite contractor claim.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS (Mining) 2022 regulations.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work.
  • Manage and support raisebore and civil works contractors.
  • Mentor and develop the production engineering team.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A tertiary degree in mining engineering.
  • Professional experience in mining engineering.
  • Deswik competency.
  • Production experience.
  • Team management and development skills.
  • Contractor management skills.
  • Excellent communication and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong time management skills.
  • Business acumen gained within an operational mining environment.
  • Full knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • WA-based with local area experience.
  • Highly skilled written and verbal communication, literacy, numeracy, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
