The role of Senior Production Engineer involves providing technical support for mine production, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
This position requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams, contractors and infrastructure projects. A key responsibility is delivering short-term schedules in alignment with direction provided by the Planning Department.
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to establish company procedures, standards and templates for the technical services department, as well as assist with implementing infrastructure projects and required instructions.
Another critical aspect of this role is supporting operation through the delivery of safe and efficient Production plans (Drilling, charging, remote bogging). This will involve assisting with ventilation surveys, monitoring and compliance, as well as conducting regular underground inspections.
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary degree in Mining Engineering and solid professional experience in mining engineering. They should also possess Deswik competency and production experience.
A proven track record of managing and developing teams, as well as managing contractors, is essential for this role. Strong communication and literacy skills are also necessary, along with the ability to work autonomously with well-developed time management skills.
Bonus points if you have full knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations, outstanding analytical skills, and experience working in Western Australia. An attractive benefit of this role is the opportunity to develop and implement Safe Systems of Work.
