Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Sanitation Assistant to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a Meat Sanitation Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the meat department, ensuring that all equipment and surfaces are sanitized and free of contamination. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sanitize equipment and surfaces in the meat department, including meat grinders, wrapping machines, and display cases.
  • Clean and maintain the meat room, meat cooler, and supply area, including washing, applying cleaning agents, and mopping all surfaces.
  • Operate trash compactor and cardboard baler, and collect cardboard and trash.
  • Restock meat room supplies and boxes of meat.
  • Assist with stocking cases and following department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
  • Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines and complete daily sanitation reports.

Requirements:
  • Food Handling/Butcher certification as required by local government.
  • Costco Food Safety Certification required within 3 months.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position that requires flexibility and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
