We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Public Space Liaison Officer to join our team.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness. As a Public Space Liaison Officer, you will work closely with our Community Development, Local Laws and Asset Maintenance teams to provide outreach services and education to individuals camping in Council-controlled public spaces.

You will be responsible for connecting people with support services, promoting the shared use of public space, and advocating for housing outcomes. This role requires a high level of self-awareness, empathy, and professionalism when engaging with people who may feel aggrieved or have mental and physical health concerns.

As a key member of our team, you will bring your problem-solving skills to respond to crisis situations using empathy and professionalism.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A high level of self-awareness and ability to maintain a calm and professional approach when engaging with people that may feel aggrieved, become aggressive, and/or be experiencing mental and physical health concerns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to respond to crisis situations using empathy and professionalism.
