Job Title: Senior Manager, Environmental Sustainability Job Description:Native vegetation and pastoral management are critical components of environmental governance in South Australia. As the Director of Native Vegetation and Pastoral Management, you will lead a multi-disciplinary branch focused on these areas, ensuring alignment with government priorities and community needs. About the Role:This senior leadership position offers a unique opportunity to influence policy and drive meaningful outcomes for communities across South Australia. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure effective implementation of government initiatives and programs related to native vegetation and pastoral management. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the Native Vegetation and Pastoral Land Management Branch, ensuring alignment with government priorities.
  • Advise senior executives on complex matters related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management.
  • Foster a positive work culture by nurturing talent, supporting staff well-being, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the Department in state, national, and international forums to advocate for South Australian interests in biodiversity and land management.
  • Establish partnerships with local communities, Aboriginal Nations, NGOs, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to achieve shared goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and maintain robust governance practices.
  • Lead transformational programs supporting government objectives and advancing departmental priorities in environmental stewardship.
  • Drive effective communication strategies internally and externally to support policy positioning and incident response requirements.
  • Champion workplace health and safety by embedding best practice procedures throughout all operations.
