Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Water's North region, which spans from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.
A key opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Environment and Sustainability Professional to join our high-performing and progressive Environment and Sustainability Team. Our projects are varied and often involve high environmental risk profile projects, such as construction work within National Parks. The primary role of the Environment and Sustainability Team is to support our construction and maintenance teams across the northern region of Sydney by providing expert advice and technical guidance in all areas of environmental management.
Main Responsibilities:- Create and implement effective Construction Environmental Management Plans, sub-plans and other planning documentation.
- Develop and manage consultative processes in the workplace relating to the environment throughout all stages of project delivery.
- Provide critical support to onsite teams by conducting ongoing risk management processes, hazard identification and performing required environmental inspections.
- Educate delivery teams through regular toolbox meetings and developing, coordinating and delivering training programs.
- Review and update risk registers to ensure optimal management.
- A relevant tertiary degree (preferably post-graduate qualifications) in environmental engineering, environmental science, statutory or strategic planning, environmental management or a related field.
- No less than 5 years' experience in environmental management, with extensive experience in preparing and implementing environmental management systems and plans.
- Strong experience of day-to-day management of all on-site environmental aspects including field testing, site inspections and any monitoring requirements within designated areas.
- A solid understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation relating to environmental planning and approvals, environmental licensing and/or site environmental management.
- Experience in the water/wastewater industry is highly advantageous.
