Financial Planning and Analysis Lead

This role offers a rare opportunity to work on a landmark APAC 'mega project' as the Financial Planning and Analysis Lead.

The FP&A Lead will be accountable for providing insights to improve cost-efficiency and informed decision-making, collaborating with other departments to develop cost standards and assist in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle.
  • Oversee financial performance management, including monthly management accounting and reporting, variance analysis, and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and the capital estimate to identify discrepancies and their underlying causes, recommending corrective actions to address variances.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the Project Leadership Team, supporting decision-making through scenario analysis, business case evaluations, and performance insights.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the site finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and joint venture partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial planning processes, systems, and tools to enhance operational efficiency and reporting quality.
  • Promote a culture of financial discipline and cost consciousness across the organization.
  • Analyze and monitor project and operational costs, including direct and indirect expenses, labor costs, material costs, and overheads.
  • Ensure project costs are accurately captured in the underlying ERP system.
Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related field.

  • Must demonstrate software proficiency with a range of applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum five years' experience working with large projects and/or operations is required.
