Regulatory and Security Compliance is a critical function that enables organizations to operate within the bounds of regulatory frameworks.
This role involves serving as an expert on regional and domestic regulations, anticipating new or potential laws and developing mitigation strategies. You will develop and execute long-term security and compliance projects, innovate to improve customer experience, and perform compliance impact assessments.
Additionally, you will track changes to security controls and requirements standards across the region, manage tight deadlines, and drive results while being detail-oriented. This position requires a high level of technical acumen and innovative thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on regional and domestic regulations
- Anticipate new or potential laws and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and execute long-term security and compliance projects
- Innovate to improve customer experience
- Perform compliance impact assessments
- Track changes to security controls and requirements standards
- Manage tight deadlines and drive results
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, banking, or non-banking supervision and examination
- A track record of experience in work related to security assurance
- Experience in program design and management
- Advanced degree in a related area of study (Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, IT Security Management)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on governance, risk, and compliance programs involving direct engagement with regulators
- Demonstrated technical acumen in software engineering, security engineering, or cloud architecture
- Experience working with sensitive or classified systems of government
- Demonstrated understanding of privacy, security, and resilience requirements across regulated sectors
Working Environment:
This role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and staying up-to-date with changing regulatory landscapes.
Applicants must be eligible for Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
