Job Overview

The Database Administration Team Lead role is to drive and oversee the SQL Database Administration team in providing a secure, functional, and stable database environment across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Focus:
  • Identify and implement new initiatives in the team
  • Drive transition to cloud from a Database perspective
  • Analyse and implement processes to secure, reduce downtime, and optimise Database performance

Operational Management:

  • Lead the SQL Database Administration Team
  • Ensure established procedures, service standards, and SLAs are adhered to by the team
  • Provide DBA Support to all databases

People Leadership:

  • Coach and mentor team members to strengthen specific knowledge/skill within the technology area
  • Identify training needs and resources for the DBA team

Governance & Risk:

  • Manage and resolve Information Security Corrective actions
  • Maintain awareness and champion best practices

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science
  • Experience in leading a team of DBAs
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server RDBMS and problem-solving skills
