This role is crucial for an accounting professional who is commercially savvy and has a passion for operational finance and cost analysis.

About The Position

You will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for handling cost accounting functions, providing key insights that support manufacturing operations and financial performance. Your tasks will include identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and collaborating with operational teams to drive performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare accurate cost and management reports including profit and loss statements, variance analysis, and commentary for manufacturing operations.
  2. Analyse standard costs, labour, material usage, and overheads, identifying variances and improvement opportunities.
  3. Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights that promote cost control, efficiency, and performance outcomes.
  4. Support budgeting and forecasting processes for manufacturing cost centres and operational planning.
  5. Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reporting in line with business timelines.
Qualifications And Skills
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, CA/CPA qualified.
  2. Proven experience in a cost accounting or manufacturing finance role.
  3. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a mindset focused on process improvement.
  4. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; SAP experience highly regarded.
