Character Animator

Highly skilled character animators are responsible for bringing stories to life by crafting believable and engaging characters. They develop, test, and maintain character motion and deformation set-ups, working closely with modellers, riggers, and animation leads/supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and testing character animation rigs
  • Maintaining and updating character models and animations
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless pipeline integration
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in character animation, preferably on high-end projects
  2. Strong understanding of body anatomy and facial expressions
  3. Excellent technical skills in Maya, including scripting using Python or Mel
  4. Visual and artistic skills, with a focus on character/creature work
  5. Familiarity with pipeline issues and post-production environments
Nice to Have:
  • Programming/scripting skills for module and tool development
  • Cloth simulation experience using nCloth or similar software
  • Experience in real-time rendering software like Unreal Engine
