The Opportunity

We are looking for a Plant Technician to join our Energy Services Operations team based in Port Kembla. Our Australian Steel Products portfolio has six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla delivering products, innovative solutions, and services to export and domestic customers.

As a member of the cross-functional team, you will be responsible for tasks including rounds, monitoring, routine inspections, performance tests, troubleshooting, cleaning, plant setup, isolation, startups, and overhaul work. You will ensure effective communication within the team, respond to emergencies and alarms, and contribute to meeting customer requirements with a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility.

This role supports a 7-day, 12-hour day shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe working environment
  • Ensure equipment availability to enable department Controllers to deliver energy and process streams to customers efficiently
  • Review and report on equipment performance and condition
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on plant and equipment issues
  • Support the team with ancillary tasks and additional support as directed by Operations Coordinators

Requirements
