Our Air Quality team, comprising 15 dedicated consultants across the eastern region of Australia, is eager to expand our operations. We engage in a wide array of compelling projects, including impact assessments, management plans, ambient monitoring, and greenhouse gas reporting, covering Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands.

Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our Air Quality team in Australia, you will play a crucial role in our expansion efforts across the APAC region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting air quality impact assessments for various clients throughout Australia.
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to enhance our air quality services.
  • Drafting proposals, estimating budgets, and managing the execution of air quality projects.
  • Working in partnership with SLR staff across Australia and New Zealand on diverse air quality and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and engaging with regulatory authorities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and driven to achieve high standards. You should possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service. Preferred qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an air quality expert, preferably in a consulting context.
  • A comprehensive understanding of local regulatory frameworks and best practices in air quality assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in air quality modeling software (e.g., TAPM, AERMOD, CALPUFF, GRAL), GIS applications, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while receiving support from the broader SLR Air Quality team and other disciplines as necessary.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CAQP, are highly desirable.
