Our culture emphasizes a 'One Team' approach, where the diversity of thought and expression is integral to forming the best team to achieve outstanding results.

In this role, you will collaborate with our established team of 15 air quality consultants located along the eastern coast of Australia. Together, you will work on a variety of engaging projects, including impact assessments, management plans, ambient monitoring, and greenhouse gas reporting, among others. These projects will extend across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands.

Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our Air Quality team in Australia, you will contribute to expanding our presence across the APAC region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting air quality impact assessments for a diverse range of clients throughout Australia.
  • Engaging with clients and internal stakeholders to enhance our air quality service offerings.
  • Preparing proposals, budget estimates, and managing the delivery of air quality projects.
  • Collaborating with SLR staff across Australia and New Zealand on various air quality and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and working alongside local regulators to achieve project goals.

Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess exceptional attention to detail, and have a strong drive to deliver high-quality results. You should be self-motivated and adept at following processes while also being an excellent communicator with a strong client service orientation. Preferred qualifications include:

  • A university degree (bachelor's or higher) in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an air quality specialist, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the local regulatory landscape and best practices in air quality assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in air quality modeling software (e.g., TAPM, AERMOD, CALPUFF, GRAL), GIS applications, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical information to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while receiving support from the broader SLR Air Quality team and other SLR disciplines as necessary.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CAQP, are highly desirable.

Benefits
Our unique culture fosters collaboration on projects to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. We recognize that every individual has different needs, and our benefits are designed to accommodate this diversity, including:

  • A hybrid work model (in-office and remote) allowing you to choose your optimal work environment.
  • Additional paid leave options of up to 10 days to recharge, assist others, support family, or focus on personal development.
  • An inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents throughout their journey, including 14 weeks for primary caregivers and 6 weeks for secondary caregivers, with the option for additional leave.
  • Learning and development opportunities, including a mapped career progression path, study assistance, and subsidized professional memberships.
  • An Employee Assistance Program to support your overall well-being.
  • Global and regional mobility opportunities and recruitment referral bonuses.
  • Additional perks such as regular office social events, service anniversary awards, salary sacrificing options, and an annual corporate uniform allowance.
