Key Responsibilities:
- Apply evidence-based assessment and biopsychosocial approaches to prevent, minimize or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia.
- Implement practical, innovative and non-pharmacological strategies to improve quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
- Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.
- Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modeling, coaching, and development of resources.
- Develop reports that enhance the lives of people living with dementia.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build capability across the home and aged care sectors.
Requirements:
- Expertise in supporting individuals living with dementia.
- Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
- Ability to share knowledge in a way that supports change at all levels.
- High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
What We Need From You:
- Current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Empathy and patience.
- Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health is essential.
