Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply evidence-based assessment and biopsychosocial approaches to prevent, minimize or respond to changes in behaviour related to dementia.
  • Implement practical, innovative and non-pharmacological strategies to improve quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
  • Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual.
  • Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modeling, coaching, and development of resources.
  • Develop reports that enhance the lives of people living with dementia.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build capability across the home and aged care sectors.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in supporting individuals living with dementia.
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
  • Ability to share knowledge in a way that supports change at all levels.
  • High level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

What We Need From You:

  • Current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health is essential.
