AOD Support Worker Job Description
About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and proactive AOD Support Worker to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will provide both practical and emotional support to programme participants – empowering them to engage fully in their recovery journey and build brighter futures.
Reporting to the Bridgehaven Support Work Coordinator, this is a casual position, based in Preston VIC.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the AOD sector or a similar social services environment and be confident working with women from diverse backgrounds with complex needs.
The successful applicant will also possess Certificate IV in AOD or completion of the AOD Skill Set and hold current Employee Working with Children's Check and Victorian Driver's Licence, as well as valid First Aid Certificate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build meaningful, trusting relationships with residents to foster healing and personal growth
- Facilitate and support psycho-social educational groups
- Organise inclusive, engaging social activities to promote community and well-being
- Work collaboratively with case managers and other team members to support holistic care plans
- Support and guide behaviour in line with program policies, including managing exits when necessary
