Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team on the Waterfront project.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities, assisting with budget preparation and reporting, monitoring construction progress, interpreting designs for implementation in construction projects, contributing to improvements to existing designs, arranging tenders, demonstrating financial management skills, assigning work, executing knowledge of contractual legislation relevant to the project, undertaking risk assessment, analyzing document and record management, and utilizing effective time management skills.

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities
  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manager or Project Manager
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
  • Contribute to improvements to existing designs
  • Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
  • Assign work and assist with reviews
  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment
  • Analyze and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors
  • Utilize effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management

Requirements
  • Commercial high-rise experience essential
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Significant demonstrated experience in a Site or Project Engineering role
  • Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities
  • Understanding of the Project Design, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans
  • Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements
