Operations Link Controller Job Description

  • To provide operational support to the Deep Space Network tracking schedule across various areas including configuring equipment, logging and trend analysis activities, monitoring safety and operational procedures, and working with engineering staff.

This role requires a technical aptitude, an enquiring mind, and a passion for space exploration. You will be part of the team that supports ground-based spacecraft telecommunications as part of the international National Aeronautic Space Administration (NASA).

Key responsibilities include:

Working Effectively
  • Supporting all team members in operations activities and taking initiative to learn and grow on the job
  • Communicating openly, effectively and respectfully with colleagues in the interests of good business practice
Day-to-Day Operational Support
  • Providing essential day-to-day operational support to the Deep Space Network tracking schedule
  • Configuring and controlling equipment to meet the requirements of the tracking schedule
  • Logging and trend analysis activities
  • Monitoring of safety and operational procedures
Technical Site Monitoring

This role also involves Technical Site Monitoring, requiring team members to work four 12-hour shifts approximately once per month.
