Recreational Activities Officer

Make a meaningful contribution to the lives of our residents by driving their engagement and participation in social, recreational and cultural activities.

About the Role:

As a Recreational Activities Officer, you will have the opportunity to create a positive impact on the lives of our residents. You will be responsible for designing and implementing programs that cater to their individual needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, staff and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement person-centered care plans
  • Run lifestyle activities that promote physical and mental well-being
  • Work closely with residents to understand their interests and preferences
  • Participate in outings and bus trips to enhance their experiences

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or willingness to complete)
  • Experience working with people living with dementia (highly desirable)
  • Current NSW/ACT Driver's License
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience in caring for the elderly within an Aged or Community Care setting
