- Two days (flexible) 8-4.30pm, based at Neringah Hospital, Wahroonga

**About The Role**:
The role of the Recreational Activities Officer (RAO) is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Recreational Activities service is provided to patients of the hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The RAO will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare.

**The essence of this role**:

- Provision of effective and efficient Recreational Activities service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in facilitating opportunities for patient to participate in leisure and recreational activities

**About You**:

- Experience in a Recreational Activities Officer role within a healthcare, hospital or aged care setting
- Experience working with people with a disability or illness
- A current drivers licence and safe driving record
- Willingness to travel between HammondCare's sites and services
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in leisure and recreation group program planning and facilitation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Cert IV in Leisure and Recreation

**Desirable**:

- Approved First Aid Certificate
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- An understanding of Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
