Procurement Specialist Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled procurement professional to join our team. As a trusted capability partner of the Australian Defence Force, we provide engineering and technology solutions that protect and secure our nation.This is a key role in our procurement team requiring a person who is proactive with a can-do attitude and will be responsible for performing and managing procurement and purchasing activities across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to understand and address procurement needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, clarify, define, and refine the scope of supply, supply requirements and statement of work and provide regular updates.
  • Respond quickly to changing procurement requirements and project needs.
  • Make fast, informed decisions under tight deadlines to minimize project disruption.
  • Address supplier issues quickly to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for procurement systems and process improvements and efficiency.
  • Foster a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to procurement challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Equivalent experience to, or, a Cert IV in Supply Chain (Procurement, Material Logistics), Contracting, Business, Commerce, Law, or Finance, or relevant technical background.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior relevant procurement and/or purchasing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for collaboration and document management.
  • Ability to create impactful presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint for stakeholders.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively to handle multiple procurement activities at once.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
  • Advanced understanding and ability to use software/online based procurement/purchasing management systems.
