About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at our Edinburgh Parks site. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our electrical control infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage site electrical control infrastructure, ensuring daily improvements and reviewing site-wide development and growth.
  • Analyse plant processes, design, and implement improvements to increase production efficiency.
  • Support and coach on-site Electricians and programmers for development and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement solutions to deliver automation and improve production efficiency.
  • Manage and plan end-of-life equipment replacement strategy.
  • Develop and implement solutions to deliver energy and water savings.
  • Maintain PLC and SCADA systems (Allan Bradley/Citec/Wonderware).
  • Manage electrical engineering projects, ensuring project planning, technical specifications, job instructions, and safety management plans.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent.
  • Practical experience with PLC systems and SCADA systems.
  • Communication and leadership skills combined with the ability to provide advanced technical solutions and problem-solving.
  • Experience in an engineering role with system design, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a professional, skilled, and flexible team.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Coaching and management of team members.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and machine safety.
  • SAP Work Management experience is an advantage but not essential.
