Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Sydney CBD. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining AI/ML DataOps pipelines.

You will work closely with the Sensor Fusion AI Team to design and implement automated workflows and pipelines for processing data, workflow automation, benchmarking, and testing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing internal software tools for processing data and workflow automation.
  • Profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing performance-critical code for high availability and reliability, low latency, and scalability.
  • Implementing and maintaining existing and new automated workflows and pipelines to uphold the highest performance and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with field service engineers and drone pilots to collect in-field test data from sensors for analysis.
  • Managing and enhancing data-engineering workflows for processing collected data.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve bug/issue reports.
  • Maintaining software quality and stability through refactoring, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with other engineers and becoming a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional Data / Software Engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating automated workflows (CI/CD, DataOps) and AI/ML pipelines (MLOps).
  • Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language with strong expertise in one or more general-purpose programming languages (ideally Python/Java).
  • Advanced understanding of data structures, algorithms, and the application of mathematics and physics in software development.
  • Familiarity with Linux and containerization (Docker).
