Psychiatric Liaison Professional

In this captivating role, you will be part of the esteemed Psychosocial Oncology Program at Peter Mac, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality psychiatric care in an inpatient and outpatient setting. As a seasoned mental health professional, you will provide expert assessments, care planning, advice, and interventions for patients requiring mental health support during their cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Liaison Psychiatry Nursing: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality psychiatric care.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Therapeutic Relationships: Build and maintain supportive relationships with patients, enhancing their overall well-being.
- Telephone Triaging and Assessments: Conduct telephone triaging and assessments to evaluate patient needs and prioritize care effectively.
- Role Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the mental health nurse role within the psychosocial oncology setting.
- Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and their families, as well as the multidisciplinary team, regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Qualifications: Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and relevant nursing qualifications.
- Experience: Demonstrated at least 4 years previous experience in a senior mental health nursing role.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
