About this role:
This position is for a talented and dedicated professional who will support the Cancer Care Coordinator in designing and implementing a toolkit for Aboriginal cancer care.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal health services, cultural safety, and the barriers that Aboriginal people may face when accessing care.
- They will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, able to work collaboratively with internal teams, healthcare providers, and Aboriginal communities.
- This role requires project planning, coordination, and reporting skills, as well as the ability to monitor and evaluate project progress.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide advice and resources to staff on the effective use of the Model of Care toolkit in practice, education, and service delivery.
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to support the delivery of projects.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions to engage stakeholders and promote cultural safety.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal community leaders, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
Requirements:
- A cultural connection to Tamworth and the surrounding Aboriginal community.
- Knowledge of Aboriginal health services and the barriers Aboriginal people may face when accessing care.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting project coordination, health program planning, or service development.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in health, social science, or community service.
