Environmental Leadership Opportunity

Drive impactful sustainability initiatives at a leading Ballarat Site, driving compliance, innovation and environmental excellence.

  • Develop and implement an environmental strategy and initiatives for the site, aligning with regional and global sustainability goals.
  • Execute onsite environmental improvement projects focusing on energy, water, waste and carbon emissions.
  • Manage environmental contracts including waste management and by-product handling.
  • Counsel and support plant teams in best practices for environmental stewardship and compliance.
  • Maintain the site's Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001:2015 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, licenses and permits, acting as the main point of contact for authorities.
  • Lead environmental risk management processes including incident investigations and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Share technical expertise and best practices with other food processing plants across ANZ.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years experience in environmental management ideally in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead or counsel teams on sustainability initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience with risk management, compliance and contract oversight.
