The Role of a Risk and Compliance Expert is critical in supporting the organization's operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Australian Risk Management team to deliver risk initiatives and ensure compliance across the region.

About the Position

This senior-level role reports directly to the Managing Director, Risk and Operations, Australia, and is responsible for driving proactive risk management and compliance capabilities across the practice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a small team in managing workflows and key risk and compliance activities
  • Managing maintenance and oversight of various compliance obligations
  • Responding to queries from the practice on corporate and risk matters, including review of client contracts and liaising with the APAC Legal team as necessary
  • Overseeing compliance management in relation to licensed or registrable activities
  • Updating relevant risk policies and guidance for the Australian practice in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

The successful candidate will have expertise in risk and compliance, excellent judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. They will be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6-10 years' experience in risk and compliance, preferably within a professional services environment
  • Degree in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Business, or risk certifications preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge and awareness of relevant laws and regulations, including risk best practices and frameworks
